Juliana
Wetmore, the little girl featured in the TLC/Discovery Channel documentary, "Born
Without a Face", suffers from Treacher Collins Syndrome; a birth defect
that has stopped the development of 40% of the bones in Juliana's face. At the
young age of 2, Juliana has already endured 20 surgeries. Doctors say she could
need at least 30 more. Her story is as courageous and inspirational as it is
heart breaking.
I was moved so deeply by her story that I organized "A Week for Juliana"...
A seven-day benefit for the Wetmore family to help with their many expenses.
Over Valentine's week, an incredible $8,750 was raised from generous and caring
people throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley! With an additional $1,700 rolling
in over the months to follow, the benefit’s total amazingly exceeded the
$10,000 mark!
I'd like to thank all the media and Donation Centers that helped
make "A Week for Juliana" a bigger success than I ever could have imagined...
Especially...
